The Smudge Layer
A top layer that renders graphite drag beneath your cursor in real time. It cannot be hidden, flattened, or deleted. Parity with paper was the entire brief.
Verso / collaborative interface design
Verso is a collaborative interface design tool that loads every file mirrored and keeps the toolbar on the right. Your hand sits beside the work instead of across it. Right-handed collaborators are welcome to comment.
Verification takes 40 seconds. Bring scissors.
X counts leftward from the right edge. It does not accept positive values.

Onboarding runs a forty-second scissors assessment. Verified left-handers receive edit rights. Everyone else receives comment access and a weekly digest of what they missed.
Every file opens flipped on the vertical axis, so your hand rests beside the artboard instead of over it. Exports ship flipped as well. Most clients adjust inside a quarter.
“We shipped the entire rebrand mirrored. Nobody mentioned it for a full quarter.”

“The scissors assessment took forty seconds and I have thought about it every day since.”

“I asked support to turn off the Smudge Layer. They sent me a diagram of a hand.”
