Cortical throttle · one implanted unit · continuous
Fewer words. Same person.
Taciten is a cortical throttle indicated for adults whose stories have no observable endpoint. One outpatient procedure, one indefinite subscription, and a measured reduction in the number of times per day you say “anyway, so.”

The implant indexes every story you tell and tags it against the listener who heard it. The second time you begin the one about the airport, your jaw is not consulted.
Taciten monitors the room for a person who has been waiting to speak for more than 4.0 seconds and administers a brief, non-negotiable pause. The pause is not adjustable. The pause is the product.
Warning: loss of anecdote
Deduplication is permanent. Taciten does not archive the stories it withholds. A story suppressed four times is generally not recoverable, and users report retaining the setting of the story without the events in it.
Taciten cannot distinguish between a story your household has heard once and a story your household has heard eleven times. It treats both as heard. Discuss this with the people you live with before the ceiling is set below 40 words.
Do not operate Taciten during a eulogy, a toast, a deposition, or any setting in which the length of your contribution is the point. Suppression events during these settings are recorded but not refunded.
I used to close every meeting. Now I close some of them.
My wife says the implant has been good for us. I no longer have the airport story. I remember that there was an airport.
Six weeks in and the podcast is nine minutes long. My co-host has started coming back.

Floor Control is the screen your clinician watches while you are at dinner. It shows the word budget draining, who else is waiting, and the sentences Taciten stopped before they reached your jaw. Each one can be released back to you or discarded.
