Perennia is a cartridge-based home console for keeping houseplants alive. One plant per cartridge. One save slot per cartridge. There are no cloud saves, and the manual explains why across four of its forty-four pages.

Every plant in your home ships as a physical cartridge, moulded to fit exactly one bay. Adding a fern means buying a fern. Cartridges are region-locked to your hardiness zone and will not boot at a friend's house, which we consider correct behaviour.
When a plant dies, the save is erased at the cartridge level rather than the console. Competing systems let you roll back a drought. We evaluated that feature for two years, built it twice, and removed it both times.
The console reads the light in the room and sets the difficulty itself. Fiddle-leaf fig has never been rated below EXPERT in any household, in any season. The rating is written to the cartridge and cannot be lowered by you, by us, or by an authorised service centre.
