Terms of the instrument

What the note entitles you to

Three provisions, drafted with total seriousness for a solitary tree-dwelling animal that has never once needed to be paid.

Article I

Bark-mounted terminal

We bolt a contactless reader to the trunk of your home tree. Customers brush past, the canopy charges, you keep foraging. Most pandas never touch the hardware. That is the design, not a defect.

Article II

Tail-print authorization

Every payment is signed by the ring pattern on your tail. No PIN, no password, no card you would lose crossing a stream. If the rings match, the money moves. The rings always match. There is no one else up here.

Article III

Settlement to your hollow

Funds clear to your registered tree hollow before sundown, denominated in bamboo at a rate we set nightly and decline to explain. We deduct a modest fee for canopy infrastructure and a slightly larger one we will cover in onboarding.

Holders of record

Endorsed by the bearer

Statements collected from active holders across the range. Reproduced without comment.

“I have no product, no customers, and no hands. Tender has settled zero bamboo into my hollow on time, every sundown, for six weeks. I cannot fault the consistency.”

Solitary Forager, Eastern Himalayan Range
“The terminal is bolted to my favorite napping branch. I have not moved it. I will not move it. It is now part of the branch and, in a sense, part of me.”
Engraved portrait of the red panda Mei-Lin Mei-Lin
Owner-Operator, Three-Tree Holding
“They told me tail-print authorization could not be forged. Then they reversed a payment I never made. I asked no further questions and renewed at the higher tier.”
