QUILLMODEL H

Model H  /  Firmware 12.4  /  Supervised

Full self-crossing.

Quill is an autonomous ground-mobility stack for hedgehogs. Kerb to kerb, supervised today, unsupervised when the regulator finishes reading. Your hedgehog keeps walking. The road becomes our problem.

Full Self-Crossing (Supervised)

The stack takes control at the kerb and returns it at the far verge, typically in under nine minutes. Supervised means a competent adult must remain at the roadside for the duration of the crossing. We are aware this was the original problem.

When a hedgehog rolls into a ball, Quill classifies it as parked and starts recording four metres in every direction. Footage is retained for thirty days. The vehicle cannot end the session, because to end the session it would have to unroll.

Updates ship mid-forage, when the fleet is at its most available. Version 12.4 removed kerb ascent. It is on the roadmap. An update may be deferred three times, after which the hedgehog is updated.

“The 03:00 update removed his ability to climb the step onto the patio. Support tells me the step was never a certified surface. He sat at the bottom of it until half four.”

“He balled up on Tuesday and Sentry Mode recorded my neighbour for eleven hours. I have watched all of it. I would not describe the experience as a feature.”

“We reserved in March. The chassis arrived in August in two boxes, and one of the boxes was a wheel. She has crossed nothing. The app says she is en route.”
