Tuppence is peer-to-peer payments where the payment is small and the memo field holds 4,000 characters. Every transaction posts to a public feed your grandchildren are enrolled in by default.
The payment is the stamp. The memo is the letter.
The Memo Minimum
Payments under $5 require a memo of at least 280 characters. We tested lower. People sent the money and left. Our median memo is 1,140 characters and usually mentions a casserole.
Split a Lunch You Ate Alone
Photograph a receipt for one. Tuppence finds another member within nine miles and sends them a request for half. Most of them pay. Some of them call to ask about the soup, which is also allowed.
Callback Escrow
Attach $3 to any payment and the recipient must phone you within 48 hours to release it. Unclaimed callbacks return to you with a notice that reads "He was probably busy." Grandchildren are enrolled automatically.
